I have a 85' sea ray 230 with mercruiser engine and outdrive. There seems to be no neutral on this boat. The throttle control does not pull out, but there is a little lever to pull up on. But when i pull up on this lever and try pushing the throttle forward, it still engages the prop.

What remote control version do you have?

Mine has two functions beside the obvious:

A button on the T-bar underside to unlock the lever from neutral and a button on the lever arm bottom to disengage the gear cable (only works when in neutral).

So applying throttle in neutral takes both buttons to be activated.

i have 2 buttons on the side of the T-bar that control the up/down trim of the stern drive. There is also a lever on the underside of the T-bar that seems to unlock the throttle control from neutral like yours does.
But there are no other buttons that disengage the prop when putting the throttle forward.

Huh? Could you post a picture as I feel certain the feature is there, somehow.

Thinking about it, there was a version where you had to pull the lever horizontally outwards (as if you tried to pull it out from the box). Could this be one?
