1986 175 hp evinrude charging problem (to seasport)

I want to know if I have to disconnect the wires at the terminal strip before I test the resistance? The two yellow wires from the rectifier are attached to the two yellow wires to the stator, via a terminal bar. How can I send you a PM?

Yes you need to disconnect otherwise you have the rectifier also connected and this can affect readings.<br /><br />Do you have a service manual? Always a good investment.<br /><br />Email me at seasport1@hotmail.com.
