Well here I am, father inlaw, brother in law and me. Taking my newly given boat from my father in law out on Lake Quinsigamond. We changed the gas can, and put in new gas with Evinrude oil, for a mixture of 50/1. We tested the engine on two different days for about 15mins at home. To work out any problems before we got to the boat ramp. The motor sounded great after two years of not running. The boat was finally in the water once again. She started right up on the first pull, no atarter fuild needed. =) We took off slow putting out to deeper water and took off, Engine was still running strong, maybe alittle to much white smoke from the exshaut, but sounded nice. Finally we ended up slowing down to fish up the shore. We did this for about an hour and the motor was running the same, with alittle white smoke from it. Went to open up to get to the other side of the lake and the engine just came to a slow stop. Like it wouldn't take fuel. While this was happening father told son to check the fual bulb, in which he pulled out the choke and the engine stopped. We checked the fuel line, and changed gas tanks. we also check the spark plgugs which we were getting good spark and lots of fuel to the spark plug, maybe alittle to much, we changed the plugs to new ones and the same thing happened. All she would do it fart on every other pull I gave her. But she sounded like she wanted to start. I sprayed start fuild in her and she still didn't want to turn over, but she started to fart on every pull now. So now here we were half way done the lake and no where near the boat ramp. However thanks for the men in blue they don't lock there ramp. Called them up and said I need to use there ramp, they had no problem. Now shes home and I want to try her out again. Any good things I should try to she why she won't start.

you may have burnt up a piston, using starter fluid. the easiest way to destroy a 2 cycle engine. it has no lube, burn way to hot. if you need to prime, use the mixed fuel in a spray bottle, and spray in the carbs. check your compression, and post the results.

Well I'd hope it wasn't this. My father-in-law did have the engine tuned up prior to storage and did have it fogged after the tune up. Before I test the compression, I want to think it might a carb problem.
