Engine will run at trolling speeds to the end of channel and then when I accelerate it will not respond but remain at idle. Then I can return the control to neutral and put it back into gear and gun it and it will run fine. It has begun to act like this often. On some occasions I will be running at cruising speed and it will for no reason drop off plane and return to trolling speed all on its own. I then can gun it and it goes ok. It does NOT have the SLOW system so that's not the problem. Does this sound electrical or fuel? I had a 1986 Merc 90 hp a few years back that had a high speed coil in the flywheel that went out and acted similar.
