setting at the pier idling I can raise the drive up & down, but when I put it in forward the drive drops down will not stay wear it is. Also if i come upon shallow water the drive will not come up I can hear it trying but it just will not come up until l I put it in neutral.( what holds it in place ). Could it be the motor
or some gear? Thank You Rog.

The 275 is a tilt only.

Never use reverse without the drive locked down.

Idle only forward with the drive tilted up.

If the drive lowers itself at idle in forward it is most likely a clutch issue, the clutch can be adjusted by tightening the top cover on the tilt assem.

Select neutral when raising the drive to take the strain off the tilt motor.
