This is a update to the previous thread I submitted back on the 25th. I was having problems with my motor wanting to die when the throttle was advanced. The engine starts just fine and will idle just fine. So far I have rebulit the carb twice, replaced the fuel pump, checked the coils for good spark, replaced the plugs and wires, replaced the fuel tank and gas. When I did the carb the second time I ensured the high pressure jet was completely clean and the float was at the proper adjustment ( 1 1/8 "). So took the boat and motor out on friday to see if anything changed. Before I got to the lake I bought a new primer bulb and hose. Once on the lake i performed the carb adjustments and she ran fine most of the day (got up to 29.5 mph) but when I started the motor up the last time I could not increase the throttle past ideal or the motor would die. Anyone have any sugestions? Thank you!

Does it help to pump the bulb?

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Some simple things to check.

1) Fuel tank vent open.
2) Hoses connected properly.
3) Fuel pump screen clean.

I'm new to your thread so I don't know the history beyond this last posting.

There is no magic, just solid mechanic/physics.

The basics
Compression
Adeguate ignition at the right time
Fuel in the right amount

Assuming adequate compression or you wouldn't have had it perform at well as it did for any length of time.

Almost the same for the ignition except your have intermittant drivability problems which could be an ignition component heating up and failing.
Get ahold of a spark tester, when the engine fails after running under load then IMMEDIATELY re-test the ignition.

Fuel system virtually replaced, it is unlikely that is a continuing problem, but what until the ignition is tested properly before tearing the fuel system apart again.
