I just did a tear down on a 1986 50 horse evinrude with vro fuel pump.It looks like the pump is pre- 1985 and may need replacement.I want to just go with a regular fuel pump, mostly because this engine will sit next to an older 10 horse kicker that uses mix and I want the fuel tanks to be interchangeable without the risk of making an engine run on straight gas where there should be mix.
When I finish the rebuild I will need to stick a regular fuel pump on the 50 horse, does anyone know the part# of the fuel pump which I should use?
thanks for your advice and opinion.
