Noticed my new to me 86 evinrude 70 hp the throttle cam has 2 marks. Not sure what the difference is between the 2? For now I link and synced using the lower mark to make contact with the carb roller when it's supposed to. Does anyone have any input on the 2 marks and which mark to go by? The marks are raised dashes on the throttle cam that contacts the carb roller

I work on smaller omc’s with same cam marks. The cam follower roller should be between those 2 marks when throttle plate begins to open... not necessarily when roller contacts the cam. Look for the throttle plate shaft on carb to just begin moving when advancing throttle between those 2 marks and you’re golden.
