1986 Bayliner Capri Mercury Force 120 Tilt/Trim goes down slowly

I am new to this forum, and new to boating. I purchased this boat for a great price, and the motor runs great. The only issue I am having, is that the tilt/trim will not keep motor up. It will raise fine, but once raised it starts slowly going down. Here is the Model # for the motor: 1251X8C. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a bad seal somewhere. Are you losing fluid?

I have not seen any fluid leaking from anywhere, and there are no signs of leaking on the ground or the unit itself.

You likely have an internal leak in the pump assembly. Your best bet for getting a detailed solution is from the denizens of the Force & Chrysler Outboard subforum. Maybe a moderator can move this thread there,
