Ok have motor at shop. I have some carb issues. The mechanic was having issues with motor and rpms blablabla. Well turns out the siphon yube that goes into the bowl and sprays the fuel into the carb is broken or disintegrated . On all four not sure what caused this motor is new to me and that does not fix the problem anyways. Are these a seperate part or can you even by replacement carbs. Any help is great.

Can you tell us what size (HP), or even better the model number?

I think you can find a couple of used carbs on ebay......if something disintegrates maybe there?s another problem somewhere else...complete used carbs that?s what I suggest....

Go to the same website that you gave above. Find your engine, then click on the part in question, and it will show you all models that use that part. It looks like an '85-140hp will fit.

Revitalizing an old thread as it's the same issue but no answer was given...

I have the exact same problem. The siphon tube on my carbs look to be some form of old paper material? It is literally crumbling with the slightest of contact. I looked for parts to replace the one in question but it does not show up on the parts breakdown for this carb. See the attached photo.

The motor is a 1986 Johnson 120 J120TLCDC

The tube in question is in the center of part 21 on the diagram and goes through the gasket (part 16) and down into the float. Not sure what caused the degradation but need to replace it and can't find the part number to do so. Please say I don't have to replace part 21 as my problem appears to be happening on all 4 carbs... Trying to not spend another $500 on this baby as the parts spend is getting up there.

Why didn't they use brass for this? GRRRR!!!
