Hi all,

Still searching for the cause of my stalling on acceleration....but this past weekend a new issue developed that is more problematic (not sure if it is related to the stalling issue).

While at idle the motor will surge then almost die, then surge, almost die, etc. Eventually it does die. Shifting into gear has no impact on the surging and you can't increase RPMs while it is happening. If I leave it in neutral and rapidly "goose" the warm up lever, eventually it seems to correct itself and then seems to run ok for a while.

For background sake...the stalling on acceleration has been an ongoing problem for a while. I get around it by choking the engine a few times quickly prior to accelerating. Once the motor reaches enough RPM to keep the boat on plane, it seems to run fine. I've cleaned the carbs several times and installed new carb kits, replaced the fuel line/bulb from the tank to the motor and replaced the fuel pump with a new VRO pump.

I'm going to replace the sparkplugs this weekend and see if that has any impact on the surging issue. Also thought I might try removing the anti-syphon valve and see if that helps the stalling issue. Any other thoughts...particularly pertaining to the surging?

Sorry for the novel.

Cheers.
