For a couple of years now, whenever the cold season starts, the tilt system starts acting up, always on the up position which kinda makes sense because of the weight of the motor makes it easier to go down normally. So this year I decided to check the fluid level and it was a bit low, I added about I think an ounce or 1.5 but it still didn't help. Once I get going the tilt up will always kick in about after 5 minutes running. Spoke to some people ;and they suggested the brushes or just changing the motor all together. But why does it only act up in the colder weather? When I do press on the button nothing happens, can't hear any clicking sound, just like I wasn't pressing on anything. And I do have a switch on the side of the motor in addition to the switch on the throttle lever and still the same thing. Any ideas anyone, thanks.

sweetmarie ,cold grease in the motor pivot pins , battery voltage, electrical connections and proper fluid , may need fluid changed, due to water contamination are just some things to cause problems. if relays dont click they may be stuck or burned up check with ohmn meter. hope this helps stay warm.:joyous:

Thought there was no clicking sound until I took the cover off and then I could here it. Now I remember I replaced a relay last year and it's the same one that's faulty. The original was a Bosch and I used a Tyco make from an auto garage. Could that be why it only lasted a year?

After doing some more searching, it appears Tyco has replaced Bosch for this type of relay.
