1986 force 50 steering tube

1986 force 50 tilt/steering tube is 5/8 diameter, all of the teleflex rack and pinion cables are 3/4. Is there an aftermarket resolution to this besides a transom clamp?

I'm not aware that there should be any problem. You might want to double-check that. The only different one I'm aware of is way back in the early 60s with Merc. Otherwise they should all be fairly universal. Have been since the seventies at least.

I have tried to push the end of the teleflex cable through but it is off. I am going to try drilling next.
