Just got this trophy bass boat with non running motor. Will try to fix it. Compression test 135/125/30. Does this explain why it does not start or what else do I check. I just ordered a clymer manual. should be here in 3-5 days. What could be my problem. The previous owner said it got "hot". Can anyone please help?

It should start even with the bad cylinder? It would be harder to start. But should start.
Check the spark,or the kill switch.
Could be the head gasket.Remove the head and check the cylinder for damage.J

I checked the sparks, noted that #3 doesn't spark. Can this be related to low compression on cylinder#3. I still have to checked the cylinder head and gasket. Can the coil to that spark plug be dead? If so, where can I get buy one? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Don't bother to fix the electrics in that cylinder yet. You have 30 psi of compression, it's not going to fire whether it's getting spark or not. If you want to run on all cylinders you need to get that compression issue fixed.

Dig deeper, I just spent $130 to bore over my block because the previous owner blew out a piston in the #1 cylinder. He told me a similar story as yours...

Thank you very much for all your help. I opened the cyl head and found the cylinder badly damaged probably from overheating. looks like water pump must have failed. Decided to get another motor. This forum's great.
