hello,
I have a 1986 force 85 hp outboard that has a problem that i have no idea about. It starts and idles perfect and good at low speeds but it doesn't go fast enough to get it on plane and also when you go to give it full throtle it bogs down and almost stops and every time you turn it off and back on again it goes slower and after a couple times it runs choppy really slow. But when u leave it for a couple hours it starts the cycle over again.

Not enough fuel to do what you want. Start w/clogged fuel tank vent. 2nd:have someome squeeze the primer bulb while accelerating, if it goes you've got a fuel pump diaphram prob. Change it. If not, do the link and sync per sticky. Basics is all I can offer. As always, be sure the plugs aren't fouled.

Sounds fuel related as already stated. Also do a compression test on all cylinders. You need good comp. so fuel pump can pump the right amount of fuel to the carbs. Check all fuel lines from tank to motor and check fuel vent for proper ventilation.
