Started my new pontoon engine today - 1986 Force 85hp. Ran it for a few minutes then turned it off. I noticed underneath each of the three carbs there was a small drip of fuel / oil mix. Not sure if it was just overflowing from the carburetors, or if it was a leak from the screw on the bottom. Is this normal? Or is it time for a carb rebuild to change out the gaskets?

About the only time it should drip is if you tilt the motor.
A slow drip could be the gasket, maybe a loose bowl screw(don't over tighten)
Possibly the needle/seat is bad?

If the motor's never been on a pontoon? then the prop it has is probably the wrong one.
Once it's running right? take it for a ride and check the RPM's at wide open.
Should be 53-5500 Post your results.
