1986 Fourwinns Hoirzon 170 no spark

I recently got a 1986 Horizon 170 with a 4 cylinder mercruiser i/o. It will not crank from the ignition but I tested the ignition switch for continuity and it tested good. I can get the engine to crank by jumping the solenoid, but I don't get any spark. The distributer cap tested good as well as the wires and a new spark plug. My first thought was neutral safety switch but i'm not sure how they work on this boat.

I also know these came with points, but it almost looks like a blue coil sitting next to the distributer so if anyone has a pic of a completely stock engine bay that would help as well!
I'm not sure how to test the supposed coil or the distributer to see if there is even power getting to those.

Also having trouble finding a good owners manual and wiring diagram for this boat.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... Back at the key switch, Is the power at the battery terminal, the red wire,..??
When turned to "Start", is there power at the yellow/ red wire,..??
When in "run", is there power to the purple wire,..??
