I am experiencing a “slow drip” gas & oil leak in front of the carburetor bank on this engine. I can’t easily detect the source, but want to improve the hose clamp situation. Currently, the clamp usage adheres to the OEM Diagrams. It is a mix of BRP Snap Clamps and BRP Cable Tie Clamps located per the OEM Diagrams. I adhered to the OEM diagrams when I replaced the fuel lines, primer lines, and oil recirculation lines 5 years ago.

Can these clamps be replaced with properly sized OETIKER clamps (#167) without damaging the plastic barbed fittings? For example, on the VRO Pump and on the plastic carburetor fuel manifold (no longer available)?

The OEM “Intake Manifold” Diagram does not show clamps on the Solenoid Primer Fuel Line fittings. Should I add OETIKER clamps to all of these fittings?

The OEM “Intake Manifold” Diagram does not show clamps on the Oil Recirculation Lines. Should I add OETIKER clamps to the related fittings on the plastic barb fittings and carburetor barbed fittings?

If you're speaking of the smallest of the fuel lines... the small fuel recirculating hoses with the ultra tiny inside diameter, clamps are not required or desired. If a leakage occurs in that area, replace it, shorten it a bit, closely inspect what it's attached to, whatever. Clamps would be considered patch work.

Replace the fuel line as they harden on the inside and hose cannot pull down tight on barbs,...

If I recall correctly, the fuel primer and recirculation hose are the same internal 1/16" diameter. Your position of not using clamps on these lines would be in line with the OEM diagrams which do not show any sort of clamp. However, I would have thought the "fuel primer" lines would require some sort of clamp since they are under some slight pressure.

Any thoughts on whether I can replace the larger 5/16" fuel line clamps with OETIKER clamps? Would the clamping force crack the plastic barb fittings on the VRO pump or other plastic barbed fittings? I read the newer ETec engines use the OETIKER clamps.
