Sorry to hear that, that sucks. But basically if you damaged a cylinder wall your gonna need to get some work done, maybe only on that cylinder, but maybe more. What do the rest of the cylinders look like? If you can still crank the motor you can check the compression on the other 3, then you will know their condition. Depending on the damage done to the cylinder wall, it may be able to be honed out or you may have to have a sleeve put in, and you'll probably need a new piston. Your best bet, if your not too familiar with engines, is to have a professional look at it, or take it to a machine shop where they will be able to tell you the extent of the damage and what it will take to fix it. But whatever the extent of the damage turns out to be, the cause needs to be determined and corrected, especially if you want to get it rebuilt.

I bought the boat from a private individual. I took the boat to my mechanic the other 3 cylinders test compression at 130 they took apart the 4th and the cylinder wall is cracked. From what Im hearing the VRO had problems with the oil pump? The engine still runs but wont go past 10 mph.... I'm pretty much screwed!! The wife wasnt happy before I bought the boat now ...well you can only imagine!
