When you say crank, you mean start? Cranking is what the motor does when trying to start. It will start and run for a minute then die? And only when you spray fluid or pump throttle? Sound gas related to me.
Have you checked the fuel pump? First there will be a filter on the bottom (or top depending on model) of the fuel pump. Check that. Next, you can disconnect fuel line from pump where it meets carb and put that end in a jug. Crank motor and see if pump is pushing gas through to the jug. If you had the proper tools, you can actually test the psi output of the pump, but this is a easy way to see if you are at least getting gas from the pump. Sometimes, the fuel pump arm--which works off the cam movement--sticks if it sits for a while. Try pressing it in a few times by hand while pump if off motor. See what that does.
When you pump throttle, does gas squirt into carbs?
