Hey guys.
I'm puzzled here. I have an '86 Mrec. 190 on an Empress 200XL. When i start it it'l fire right up and run great for a couple minutes (out of water) then eventually stall and gas will poor out of the linkages on the lower part of the Carb. Almost like a stuck float and pin. But im not sure this carb has a float and pin Assembly. I really need a diagram to look at but cant find one on here.

Ideas?

The 190 is a 470 engine with a Quadrajet, and yes it has a float and a needle and seat if that is what you are calling a pin.

Yes. Lol must be a local thing here , Float & Pin = Float, Needle & Seat. Never the less, The engine is a 224 CI 190 HP. Mercruiser 190. Anyone know where i can view an assembly diagram on here? Not sure where to look for the float. Pretty sure it's just a float sticking open, But i'm more used to the small engine style float & pin. So i'm not 100% sure where to look for the float on this beast. Anyone have a link to a diagram?

Head on down to your local auto parts store with the Rochester carb number (should be 17083522) to get the proper kit. They can also get you a float (not in kit), the needle and seat should be in the kit. The float is the same as the automotive version.
If you are going into it that far, it probably needs properly cleaned as well, or you wouldn't need to replace those items.
