1986 Mercruiser 230 (5.0LX) Idle Adjust?

I'd like to turn the idle down a little on my engine so that I can troll slower than I can currently. Its an 86 Mercruiser 230 with is the GM 305. I can only troll at about 5.5 mph right now but want to get down to 3.5 mph if possible. Is this something easily done?

Turn it down as low as it will run. Won't hurt anything unless it gets hot, so watch the temps. I think it will probably start to act up below 575 rpm. If that's too fast either get a trolling motor or get a really short pitch prop. You probably need the troller. 5.5 mph is fast, are you idling at 650 to 675? That's typical. So if not turn it down. The idle screw is on the port side of the engine at the forward end of the throttle cable.
