1986 OMC Sierra 4.3

I’m fairly certain I blew a rod through the oil pan on the river yesterday. I have had the boat less than a year and have done the following so far and now need to decide if it’s even worth trying to repair.

Rebuild upper gearcase (seals, impeller, impeller housing, upper and lower shafts.
Decking/Carpet replacement.
Vinyl replacement (maybe 50%).
New circulating pump, thermostat.
Minor wiring repairs.

I have done all the labor but shutter to think how much I’m in for at this point. Would love any feedback.

Yer probably lookin' at a couple grand for a new/ reman long block,.......

A rotten donor boat is always an option too,.....
A rotten hull 'n runnin' motor can be found for a grand, maybe $1500, 'n up,.....
