My 1986 Seville starts and runs good while pulling tubes or whatever. Once I shut it down to swim or to let someone in the boat, it won’t start back up. Can take a couple hours before it will start again. It cranks but nothing. It’s just been retimed, and also there was a ground wire disconnected on the carburetor. Has fresh non ethanol fuel in it too. The plugs are white so it’s running lean. The temp gauge while pulling tubes is around 175. Previous owner had an electronic ignition installed. Please help. Thank you

Somehow, seems to me you need to find out if you have spark during these times or if it is fuel related. Those are the options. Might get yourself a spark gap tester (<$20) and see if you have any spark.

Ok thank you. I am new to all this and I did do that and didn’t see spark when it was trying to start. So would that mean an ignition coil replacement??
