Hi everyone! I'm in the middle of a partial teardown to remove a leaking gas tank. In order to remove the tank I need to remove part of the deck. I'd like to remove the entire deck from the seat bases back to inspect the stringers and do any repair/replacement of any rotten areas which I'm sure are there. The deck of my boat appears to be raised up and I'm having some trouble figuring out where to cut so that I can reuse it. Trying to recreate the shape and form of it I feel like would be a challenge if I couldn't reuse it after removing it. There's a lot of access panels which is nice to be able to access everything I need to get to so I don't want to eliminate any of those areas. I've attached some pictures of what I'm dealing with if anyone can provide some guidance on the best place to cut so I can remove and reuse after my repairs I would greatly appreciate it!!

IMHO you need to forget about reusing the old deck and plan on replacing the it along with the stringers, motor mounts and possibly the transom. Drill core samples in all of them to ensure condition. 33 year old boats rarely only need partial restoration but rather a full gut and restore.

Thanks for your quick response. I'm definitely going to perform a drill test in all of them. I took some additional pictures of the deck to help illustrate how it's just sort of "floating". It is secured to a plywood deck underneath it with metal L brackets and two stringers. You really don't think it will be reusable? I can feel the underside of the entire deck because it's so far elevated off the plywood deck underneath it and it feels rock solid.

I'm worried about scrapping it because of all the intridcate shapes and cut outs for the hatches, I don't know how I would even begin to recreate those so precisely. Especially the corner pieces you see there. Thoughts on the additional pictures?
