I'm replacing the stringers and flooring from the front of the motor to the front of the boat, my question is how do u put it back to original when rot has destroyed any hopes of template pieces and previous owners replaced ski storage flooring and stringers with something that I'm almost sure isn't stock

Thank you

Hi Goldie, welcome to drydock ;)

If you havnt removed the old stringers and bulks yet, you can make cardboard templates by laying the CB next to the existing ones, and leave about 1/4 from the hull to the bottom of the stringer, and a bit on top for the glass caps. Mark them and tape them together and trace out on sheets of ply you choose.

Get a free photo bucket account and post some pics.....you'll find lots of help here!

I prefer Zool's way if you can pull that off. My way may not be the prefered way, but I made new stringers one at a time. By laying a straight edge/level across the existing stringers every say, 12" you can get accurate heights. You can use the removed deck's "memory marks" on the hull or leave a couple inches of decking on the sides of the hull to double check yourself.

I had a center keel stringer so once I made it, I then made the side stringers to be sure I was 100% level all the way across. (I then made a jig to glue in the side stringers at the same time using decking marks and the center stringer) Hard to explain, but it came out more accurate than factory.

Thank you for being so kind, next time I'm at the boat I will take pictures and hopefully some video, I would like u to see that the stringers in the ski storage area dont look stock, I wish there was a way I could see what the original stringers, gas tank enclosure and ski storage looked like,

On a side note is there supposed to be a removable cover over the gas tank?
