Decal showing what model it is has been removed and or painted over. I have narrowed it down to 179dc 179v and a 179vf but don’t know which one is there anywhere I can get this? I’m process of trying to fix some things while I’m fishing in between

Should be able to research the boat's history using the VIN number.

Yes, HIN is the proper term, thanks for the clarification. With the HIN you can go to websites like this one: https://hindecoder.com/ and get some information on your boat which might include your model number. Your model number can also sometimes be found on your NMMA plate as well. You can also go to your local fraud detection center (call local police station) and they can perform a title and registration search based on the HIN. A lot of times when boats are registered the model information is a part of the registration records. My local fraud unit did mine for $20 bucks and took them 15 minutes. They will not give you personal information, but they will share the details of the registration history including model information if included as part of the boats registration history.

You can also go to Iboats Spec. page and search the details of the 3 models and match the information up against the NMMA plate. I notice there are different weights listed on the spec page for the models you listed...might help narrow it down,

Good luck.

Just ran my HIN on the hindecoder.com site and it pulled up my model information. Might give it a try, below is a snippet from the report, btw it is free...

My plate is bad faded only thing I can read is 6 persons 800# max and I’ve noticed on registration they have a letter in the 4th position when by stratos it suppose to be a number and on Hull it is a number so me and previous owners both have the wrong hull number on registration and registration has it having a 200hp mercury when everything I read is 150 max and too if transom is only about 2 inches above water line needless to say I run bilge pump about all the rime
