Past couple of trips i have noticed my engine has been smoking a lot - like to much oil mixing with the gas. last week about 4 days after a fishing trip i noticed a lot of oil on the ground under the motor so i took the cover off the motor and noticed all the oil in the oil tank (in the motor) had leaked out. It looks like it came out through the carburetors because there were no signs of oil leaking anywhere else in the motor except under the carbs because everything else was dry. any advice? Thanks in advance.

with that year of a motor the oil pump could be junk if i were you i would disconect it and mix 50:1 in tank. could be me but i dont trust the oil injection

Re: 1987 150 yamaha oil leaking

my 1986 115 hp Yamaha leaks some out somewhere when i trim it all the way up. Its not a lot though but it looks like it is coming from the carbs because when trimmed down it is right below them. I have never lost a whole bottle worth. Im interested in the fix though. I think that my cap is missing something on the oil tank under the cowling. Good luck.
