1987 4.3 V6 Changing oil pump

I have a new oil pump and need to take the pick-up tube and screen from the old one and install on the new pump. Can it be done in my garage or should a shop do this to ensure a good seal?

Ayuh,... It ain't too hard to do...
Many folks tack-weld it in after it's seated...

Ayuh,... Braised is what you do to Meat...

Brazed is the joining of metals with bronze,....

I put a held a hammer head in the goose neck and smacked the hammer head after warming up the pump body with a propane torch and it came out easily.
