1987 70 hp evinrude

I have a 1987 70 hp evinrude. Ran like new all season but today i was out for about 2 hours and it just quit while at full throdle. fuel is full. It cranks but wont start. new carbs last year. can it flood while running?? it also has good spark and the lanyard is connected. please help. this is the first boat i have owned so this is all kinda new to me. also the hand pump on the fuel line has good pressure. it stays hard. also there is oil comming from the air box. not alot but is that normal??

make sure that your dead man switch is not tripped and that your kill switch is not grounded apart from that im stumped

oh and this might sound completly stupid is it in neutral lol hey some times its the easiest thing

ok heres a update i started checking the things that you guys suggested and i found that i dont have spark. i have power but no spark. like i said this is all new to me. what can i do to get spark? this is all just so wierd cuz this motor has been running so good. the other thing is it wont crank using the ignition switch now. but if i hook up a starter button directly to the starter it will crank but still no spark. i also checked my fuses and all are good.

I have a 1987 evinrude 70 hp. The motor died on me while it was running. I have checked all of my fuses and all are good. someone told me that it could be the stater, power pack and voltage regulator. These are expensive parts and i was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem. I would like to get a second opinion before i spend alot of money.

Power pack seems a possibility. Check ebay - I got one for around $30.
