1987 85 hp force

Ok I have a 1987 force 85 hp . It starts and runs great idles great everything. We will take the kids tubing for 3 runs about a hour to two hours and then we shut engine off to get kids in boat . Start boat back up and go into the throttle and it falls on its face some times stalling out engine then it will some times take right off others we have putt back to the dock . Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

Welcome,
​Check the fuel line and connectors.
The connectors can suck air and cause the problem.
Check the pump diaphragm..
Install a filter between the pump and the carb.
