recently i have changed fuel water separator,(three times) i have changed fuel pump just yesterday, changed the small fuel filter that goes from pump and into the carb, checked all points and cap, rotar which all look very good. changed all spark plugs today. in neutral it throtles up very well with no spit and sputtering. but the min i leave the marina and try to go it loses all power. and doesn't want to faster than 9mph last weekend it ran somewhat ok and topped out around 22mph still should've been faster. i have seen this boat on youtube. fly on water. what could be causing my problem(s).we are just about feed up with it about to sell. someone please help?

A lot of things can cause your problem. here is a list of them. Start eliminating what isn't the problem and you will be left with the cause of the problem.

i changed the prop last weekend the prop that was on it wasn't bent just worn on edges pretty bad. so it has a new reconditioned prop on it.

update yesterday i went through all fuel lines including the overflow vent hose. i didn't know that there were little screens in them lines. once i removed the screens and clean them i went out and ran it. as soon as i got out of the marina and opened it up she slowing built up speed and came onto plan. i got a new top speed of 26.0 mph alot better than the 9.0 mph i was having. now it is getting the fuel and idle is very high which is causing problems shifting back to neutral and reverse. i think that once i get idle set right again it should be ok. but my next question is what is the top speed for this boat? if any one could tell me, so i have a target speed to look for. but i'm ok with the 26 range.

another update i rebuild my quadrajet the other day on kitchen table. reinstalled it back on boat yesturday. it is still not the greatest. but i have only one day it ran 26 and 27mph. i have done about everything now that i can think of other than full it up completely with fuel. she has a bad attutide and i'm going to knock her down a few notches. is there anyone else out there that could lead me to other ideas.

Check your mechanical advance
remove distrib cap and you should be able to turn the rotor 1/4 turn by hand and it let go and it will snap back if not may need springs good luck
