1987 Classic 50 45 hp with p//t/t

hi gang I bought this motor a yr ago for a song..a 1987 classic 50 45 hp w/p/t/t...I am exp'd in some outboard work and most car work so my question is is it worth my time? the guy said it ran when he took it off for what I paid I don't believe he would lie to me...so far i purchased a choke shaft for the bottom carb as the actuator arm is broken off pretty common I guess it was hard to find as nla most places well all bit the one I found it was nos... need battery wires and maybe a control box so is it worth it to fix? Can't find much of any problem posts for that motor...it was on a pontoon boat not a mark on the lower unit or the prop it almost looks babied...Thanx in advance Al

Those engines were pretty much bullet proof, so it has been maintained it should be a good engine

thanx Lad I don't know the history of the motor but if looks are any indication it was babied so I'll put in a pump impeller that carb part and go from there....thanx again al
