1987 erude spl starter solinoid

Is there a way to bypass the starter solinoid on this motor?

Well because the motor is not on my boat and I don't have controls because they are in my boat which is on my boat dock on the river.just need to crank it over inordervto do a compression check for people that are interested in purchasing motor.tried hooking jumper cables to motor and jumping solinoid with screw driver and it wouldn't turn over. Sometimes it would try to turn over and others I would just get a click?

If your battery is good you should be able to jump across it and spin it plenty for a compression check. You either have a weak battery or bad connection. Hook your jumper cable to the big bolt on the top of the solenoid and make sure you have a good ground with the negative.
