I have a 1987 evinrude 110. M# e110tlcuro (hard to tell sticker is peeling) on a 24foot skipper craft fiberglass pontoon boat set up for flats fishing. from what ive gathered this thing only has a 6 amp charging system and is not to be used to charge deep cycles. I need 3 deep cycles and a starting battery charged to run trolling motor and led lights, radio, fish finder, baitwells, bildges, water system and auto anchor. I go camping on islands with my family and need 4 days of charge. I'd like to go solar but want recommendations on charge controllers. Isolating 12v systems off of 36v banks of batteries and saltwater compatibility. Is a small generator made from maybe a 12v 1wire gm alternator agood option run off a small motor or wind turbine? Any experienced thoughts greatly appreciated.

I have an 1987 90hp Evinrude and my manual says if you have the tilt & trim you have a regulated alternator that is 6/9 amp. and it is OK for maintenance free and sealed batteries.
This is my manual which is also for the 110hp.

As far as i can tell, I'm not getting charge from the motor. @ 6 or 9 amps it would take days of running my engine to recharge three deep cycles to full cap. I guess what I'm looking for is a better alternative to charge a little faster w/o upgrading to the 35amp system. (Changing stator and water cooled rect/reg seems like a really expensive option for such minuyte performance upgrade, especially from the stories i hear about how finicky they can be. I'd really like to look into other options.

Is it ok to pull 12v from a battery that is in a 36v bank? My starter was acting up(weak and the solinoid wasn't engaging the flywheel w/o being helped then wasn't strong enough to turn the motor) the other day and until i isolated one of the batteries from the bank (all new) it started fine on the key. I'm considering a repower but from what I've read this 110 uses same block up to 150hp or something and the smaller hp motors seem to outlast the larger ones.
