1987 evinrude 115 ?

I just bought an engine that i cannot find the serial number or model number on. Where can I find these numbers on an engine that does not have any visable numbers other than the engine size and make? This engine is suppose to be a 1987 evinrude 115

should be a plate on the side of the transom mount, or look for a plug like this between the cylinder heads.
