My 1987 Force 90hp motor just developed an interesting problem. If I run it at 4500-5000 rpm, after a minute or two she'll act like it runs out of fuel and dies. After a second or two I can restart it. If I keep this up, it gets increasingly more difficult to keep running to the point where it does not seem to have any power at idle. I have read some other posts with a recommendation of a bad battery. Can anyone concurr? I did fully charge the battery before going out this morning and when I tried to start the first time, it did seem weak still. I would love for it to be a bad battery!

I don't know anything about Force but, sounds to me like you have 2 different problems. The first sounds like your fuel pump may have a bad diaphragm or check valves. You could also have a restriction in your tank or hose assy. The second problem I don't know about. I'm sure you'll get a more educated answer.

I put a new battery in and it went dead within a half an hour. Before it died, the engine did the same thing, died after running for a minute or so at 4500 rpm. If I run it at 3500 rpm it'll go for a long time.

If anyone has any helpful advice, I'd greatly appreciate it!

You have a problem with your stator or regulator. Get a manual and follow the troubleshooting procedures.

I also believe you have a fuel delivery problem.
