I have just taken ownership of a 1987 Formula Thunderbird 272 SR1. Does anyone know where the water tank filler pipe for the cabin sink is located? Also, is the faucet a manual pump-type faucet? There is no electric water pump on this boat.

thanks

first, welcome aboard

there would be a big filler same size as the fuel filler that says "water" on the outside of the boat. usually on same side as fuel fill, however not all the time.

Hi Scott, I have looked all over this boat and there is no such filler pipe anywhere. It's a complete mystery to me. My other boat has the filler pipe on the starboard side.

RexReed . . . I had a 1991 Formula 242 . . . the water tank for the sink was located at the front of the V-berth, there was a panel beneath the V-berth cushion where you could access the tank. There was not a fill line leading to the deck IIRC.

The sink itself was a manual pump faucet that drew water from the tank.. Primitive by today's standards.

Post up some pictures of the 272 when you have a chance. I believe the 1987 models came with Alpha One drives, since the Bravo drives were not introduced until the following year (1988)
