I recently bought a Glassport boat with a OMC engine. When I asked the guy about the engine he said it was 120 hp Ford engine. However, this weekend when I was pulling off the starter I saw stamped on the engine block G.M. Hecho in Mexico.
The numbers on the engine were 27,700 and 329/85.
It is a four cylinder but I am wondering if it is the 2.3 liter GM motor and is it 120 hp?

hello
yep the giant sucking sound. a lot of 3.0,5.0 and 5.7 chevys now are produced down south. the ore is mined here and railroaded soth and the castings and engines are produced with dirt cheap labor and killer environmental controls. thank your local politician:).sounds like you have a 3.0 GM engine now. the ford was a 2.3.
good luck and keep posting

If it's 120 hp, then it's the 2.5 litre block. The 3.0 motors were 140hp.

Chris.............

If it's a 120, I think it is always a GM 153 IN3
