Hello all,

I've just completed "cleaning" my carb and was glad to see how well the motor ran afterwards. One problem though. The slow speed needle valve is so loose it turns itself in from the motor vibrating. On the carb diagram there is a part #17 (retainer, friction) that it would appear needs to be replaced. My question is how do I remove this part and insert the new one? Thanks, Andy

Just thread in the needle a couple turns and pull it out. If that doesn't work, get a small screw driver and carefully pry it out. Be careful not to scratch or gouge the carb body.

OK. I was wondering because there is a welch plug at the area of the carb where the tip of the needle valve would be and I thought it might need to be removed through there.

OK, I figured it out. If part #17 was a poisonous snake I'd be dead. I thought it was all the way in at the tip of the needle. On closer inspection I see it is right at the opening and in my case is missing. Thanks Jasper, I see you run the same motor. If you don't mind, any further questions I'll PM you first.

Glad to hear it worked out. That motor should serve you well.
