Orignal problem, motor hard to start. Took it to mechanic, he put on a new primer solenoid and upgraded seals in carburators. When I got it on lake I could'nt get boat up to full speed or motor to full power. I've had it back and forth to mechanic four times. Each time he's unable to duplicate problem. He suggested I change fuel pump. The new pump and hose and bulb did not fix it either. Last week he tested it on lake and told me it ran fine. He only made a small adjustment to carburator. Today I went fishing, the motor started fine. I was able to get boat up to full speed and motor to full power. I moved from place to place fishing and would shut down and restart motor each time. When moving to each new spot I would get up to full speed with no problem. Then during about the fifth move the motor was hard to start and smelled like it was flooded. Once I got it started I engaged prop and ran boat up to full speed. As I was moving along I reduced the power some then when I tried to go back to full speed it wouldnt go. After that it would not go above half power and speed. It went back to same problem. It acts like it's running on just one cylinder. Why would it run good some times then the rest of time run at half power?

ok i have the same problem. First of do a compression test or have your mechanic do it if u don't have one. Then its the carb. Everyone told me it was dirty but it wasn't now it barely will start. I just order another used carb hopefully in better condition. My needles had a little nick in it and the bushings and packing were shot so mine doesn't work. First time out it ran good second time it ran good then 1/2 throttle then 1/4 throttle then i cleaned and barely started. So i should get the carb this week.
Good luck Matt

I got my carb today and got it on and out on the water. Fixed my problem needs a little adjustment but ran great. Also where the stator mount is their is a bolt going into the leaf valve behind the car make sure that it makes it have the correct pressure mine was not in and it didn't run right.

Is their a "how to link and sync" on the form FAQ?

Finally took boat to different mechanic, He found gaskets in carb not seating where other mechanic had changed them out. Carbs were sucking air. Ran motor and problem fixed.
