1987 Johnson GT 150 trim/tilt problems

I have had a problem with my 1987 Johnson GT 150 where I can tilt it up, but cannot tilt down. Press the down button and nothing at all. It has been an intermittent problem and usually goes away after maybe 15 minutes until now. I can consistantly tilt up, but cannot tilt down. Any thoughts?

Trace the electric motor's wires back to the junction box that houses the relays. Switch the relays. If the problem is now reversed (down but no up), you have a bad relay.
