Here's the scoop, I replaced my water jacket cover gasket the other day and there is this little wire that is connected to a little brass plug that goes into the block right next to the #1 spark plug. Well, I accidently hit that wire and broke it off at the base of the plug, so I soldered the wire on and thought I'd be ok. I took the boat out to test the seal on the water jacket cover and in my throttle control it kept a constant beep going like an alarm was going off, I am assuming that the solder didn't hold? What is this part and what does it do and where can I get one cheap?

Go to the Mercury Marine web site, click on Parts Express and enter the engine serial number. The temp sender is shown in the exploded views along with the part number.
