I searched the forum but didn't find much on high oil pressure. The oil pressure gauge is electric and no numbers on the lines so I don't know how high the pressure is measuring. At idle and warm up it was reading where it always does then when I accelerated running 3k-4K rpm the oil pressure gauge was maxed out. It came back down as I slowed down. After a while I tried it again and it went higher than normal but no as high as earlier. The temperature gauge reads in the normal range and no unusual noises. Is there a risk of damage if running with this high pressure? Besides connecting a mechanical gauge is there anything that can be checked?

Ayuh,... I doubt it's actually a Problem,....
Hookin' up a Mechanical gauge is the Best choice,+ way to find out, for Sure...
Checking the wiring for the gauge,+ sender is a good idea,... Don't forget the Ground paths....

Hmmm, worked normal this evening even at WOT.
Like they say in the movies, "Forget about it".
