crank engine and backoffs trailer tied boat to pier and engine died. has no spark in either plug. replaced switch box still no fire to coils. scratching me head now...
Stator needs replacing. Happened to me once, '86 175 running fine and then shut off at dock, when I restarted 3 of the 6 cyl. had no spark! I replaced with aftermarket stator from CDI. Make sure black/yel wire from Ign. switch is NOT grounded when key is ON, a short in harness/key switch would also cause no spark.
