1987 Mercury 50hp now wont start

I was running it yesterday and it ran fine and I got it home and the overheat buzzer went off while I was flushing the motor. Now it wont start. Can anyone tell me how and where to start. Could a fuse be blown. This motor ran to good for it to be something major, hopefully. Thanks Jayme

When was the last time the impeller was changed? How long did you let it run with the buzzer going? When you say 'won't start', do you mean it will crank but not fire, or it won't even turn? When you turn the key to the ON position, do the instruments come on?
