1987 Volvo penta aq131a

I have a aq131a with a 275 out drive. I can only get 3200rpm at wot speed is about 25mph.any ideas as to what is going on.

I just got this boat a few weeks ago.took it out could only get 32 to 3400rpm and about 25mph I have a 15x19 prop

What have you done regarding tuneup, fuel filters, age of fuel, compression tests....?

Boats weight and length?

Are you sure the tach is accurate? Verify with a shop tach?

Usually best to tell us all of what you have already tried so we don't have to ask all these questions.

Repairs etc.
