1987 Yamaha Excel V6 225hp

I live in west haven CT, and I am looking for a shop that can take a look at this engine that came with the boat(22FT aquasport 1981). Or is there anyway that I can test it myself before bringing it to a shop. (First Time Buyer)........

Those were very strong and reliable motors, if properly serviced and maintained. I would reccomend you find a good shop to have the sevice work done until you are more familiar with it. I don't knowof one in your area but hopefully some one on the board does and will post.
