K guys need help bought a 1987bayliner with a penta 131a engine and can't get it to start the boat had sat do a year and a half I changed the oil checked out the carbon its good put in a new fuel pump the motor turns over has spark and seems like in wants to start but just won't the altenator is locked up I know that needs to be replaced but even so it should start put fuel and ether into the card got it to fire for a couple if secounds a couple if times but just won't start every thing turns up fine and it wants to start and just won't what should I do and the spark plugs are all good and new before it sat. What's next for me guys.

Welcome!

I would check the points. Also those engines have a timing belt that needs to be replaced periodically. A compression test could give you some info as to the health of the engine. Skip the ether, if it doesn't run on gas, something is clearly wrong.
I would have the alternator rebuilt. Don't spend the money on a new one.
