Howdy, Eddie.

Check the venting of your fuel tank. Check for debris floating around inside that might block the pickup.

You also may have a "hot short" in a powerpack, taking out 2 cylinders. When running at high speed everything is okay, but when you shut it down the temp inside the bonnet goes up for a while before it starts back down. That extra heat can temporaritly disable a powerpack. Once it cools down it will operate okay again.

This idea can be tested by running the engine on the ears and heating the ignition parts one at a time with a hair dryer.

Good luck.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

Hi Eddie,
Spraying carb. cleaner into the caeb.s will only clean the throat of the carb.s. To clean outboard carb,s the carb.s must be removed and dissembled, then use the carb. cleaner. Make sure you get cleaner through all of the openings and jets in the carb.
By the way does it stall at idle, when going from idle to speed,or at WOT?

Eddie,

You don't mention if the problem cures itself in a short time, eventually or not at all.

One check I would do is briefly push in the key when the problem is occuring. This will activate the primer circuit and add a little extra fuel.
If the RPMs pick up, she's runnin'lean and you need to find out why before it takes out the powerhead.

Keep us posted.
